Installing your Contribute Key

In order for Macromedia Contribute edit content on the Engineering intranet it needs to
know some information about your account and the website. This information is stored
in a "connection key" file that you will need to import into Contribute. That key file is stored
in your personal work space on the intranet.

In a nutshell, you need to browse to your personal work space, download your key to your
desk top, and double click on it. Then enter your name, email address, and Contribute
password and you're done.

Here are more detailed instructions:

    1. Start up Contribute (or any web browser).
    2. Go to your personal work space homepage. To do this go to the workspace
      homepage (http://intranet.engr.cornell.edu/home/)
      and click on your name.
    3. Find the link to your Contribute key(s) on the top of your personal worskspace
homepage. You will have more than one key if you have access to the public
website as well as the intranet. You should import all your keys.
    4. Right click on that link and choose "Save Target As..." from the menu.
      Save Target As Menu
    5. Download the key file to your desk top, or some place you can find easily.
    6. If you have more than one key, download them all now.
    7. Find the Contribute Icons on your desktop. It will look like this:

    8. Double click on the Icon. If Contribute isn't already open it will start up.
    9. Enter your name, email address and Contribute password in the following window.
You should have received your Contribute password during Contribute training or
      from the intranet administrator.
      Contribute settings window
    10. Hit the OK button and wait while Contribute confirms that it can connect to the
intranet and while it downloads the template.
    11. If every thing is successful, you will be taken to your personal worspace homepage.
    12. Repeat steps 7 thru 11 for any additional connection keys.
