RFP to develop a new College Intranet in CommonSpot. Due 6/2/05

 

RFP #11502-069-04A has been re-opened with a new proposal deadline of December 15, 2003.

The updated RFP contains 5 parts: 1) Cover letter, 2) RFP, 3) an Addendum I, Addendum II, and 4) Attachment A. Also, there was a bidders conference call Thursday, December 4th at 4:00. Details are in the RFP. We solicited questions in advance of the call and have posted the list of questions we worked off of during the call.

The original RFP was published 10/23/03 and was due 11/5/03. The 4 parts of the original RFP were: 1) Cover Letter, 2) RFP, 3) Addendum to the RFP, and 4) Attachment A. The RFP due December 15th will be essentially the same, but the proposal submission and site completion deadlines will be extended. There was a vendor meeting scheduled 10/28/03 at 3:00 in Carpenter 240 on the Cornell Campus. An addendum to the RFP was mailed to the vendor's invited to bid on this project Wednesday afternoon 11/29.

During the 10/28 bidders conference there were questions about Macromedia Contribute. Here are the instructions we use for creating a new account on our intranet site.

There is nothing in the RFP that requires you to build your own CMS. You may find you can provide the necessary functionality at comparable or lower cost and higher quality by addressing our needs using a third party CMS. You may also find information related to our Intranet project, particularly our evaluation of alternative CMS technologies helpful. (Note: the Intranet project had a very different charge and therefore very different technical needs than this project does.)
